Warren Central students having their artwork selected for The Annual Regional Scholastic Art Show for 2015 are listed below. Their artwork was selected from over 2,500 pieces of artwork from Indiana's best young artist.
Regional awards were given in several categories:
• Alyssa Day, Drawing Gold Key: The highest level of achievement on the regional level.Approximately 7 – 10% of all regional submissions are recognized with Gold Key Awards and all are considered for national-level recognition.
• Julie Willis, Painting Silver Key: Approximately 10 – 15% of all regional submissions are recognized with Silver Key Awards.
• Cassie Odom, Ceramics Honorable Mention: This Award recognizes students with artistic potential. Approximately 15 – 20% of all regional submissions receive Honorable Mention Awards.
• Alyssa Day, Drawing American Vision & Voice Nominees: Five works are selected out of all Gold Key works (across categories) as the “Best of Show” for each region.
Digital images of all of our GOLD KEY Awards are sent on to National Adjudication in New York City. Award recipients at the national level are invited to participate in the Awards Ceremony held in New York City at Carnegie Hall, have their work shown in noted galleries, attend workshops, be considered for scholarships, and have their names included in the New York Times article covering the Scholastic Art Awards.
It's time to schedule for the 2015-16 school year. Please carefully review the course offerings in the 2015-2016 Course of Study Guide to make appropriate course selections. All students will meet with their counselor during the months of January, February and March to complete their schedule for the entire school year next year.
The Boys’ and Girls’ Cross Country team at Warren Central would like to extend an invitation to all students in grades 3-6 to participate in the first Warren Central Miracle Mile. This event gives students in Warren the opportunity to practice a healthy lifestyle choice, be exposed to a positive experience with the sport of running, and participate in fun, healthy competition.
The Miracle Mile will take place on Wednesday, May 6th at the Warren Central Track. The event will feature 4 races and follow the tentative schedule below.
5:30 PM-6:20 PM Packet Pick-up and registration at Warren Track West Gate
6:30 PM 3rd/4th grade girls’ mile race
6:50 PM 3rd/4th grade boys’ mile race
7:10 PM 5th/6th grade girls’ mile race
7:30 PM 5th/6th grade boys’ mile race
The 1 mile races will begin and finish on the Warren Track with the middle half going around the practice football fields west of the stadium. Student helpers will be out as course guides.
Registration for the Miracle Mile is $10. Each participant will receive a t-shirt at the time of packet pickup, and awards will be given to the top 10 finishers in each race.

It is the time of year when it could be necessary for schools to close early or be called off due to severe weather conditions. Information regarding closing can be obtained by listening to your favorite radio or TV station. Our automated calling system will call the home of all students using the number you have supplied to the school. Calls will occur as early as 5:30 a.m. and will report either delays or closings due to weather.

Warren Central will be hosting our annual FAFSA informational meeting on Wednesday, January 14th, at 6:00 p.m., in the PAC. This will be approximately 45 minutes of information designed to give you expert advice about paying for college and for financial aid. The session will be presented by a representative of Discover Financial Services with over 20 years of experience in the college funding area. Please feel free to bring your student with you we hope to see you there!
This Monday, January 19th, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, hundreds of Warren Central High School students will show up to school on their day off to “Take A Stand” against bullying. This event marks the fourth consecutive year that students involved in athletics and other organizations, at the Warren Central High School, will hear from leading experts on the topics of bullying and hazing. The event will also include a special tribute to the work and memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The event, sponsored by the Warren Central Athletic Department, will be held in the Warren Performing Arts Center from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Doors open at 11:00 a.m. There is no charge to attend and parents are welcome. Please enter through Door #27.
In the past four years, thousands of Warren Central students have signed the pledge to “Take A Stand” against bullying & hazing as part of the Warren Township initiative.
